There is a qualifying period which will define which entries will be valid. This period will be between January 2021 and June 2022. That means any product launched, or project completed, before or after these dates will not be eligible to enter.

What we’re looking for: The heart of any smart building is the automation platform – but with so many to choose from, why is yours the best?
- Design: Whether it’s hardware or software, design will be key to the success of an automation platform. Those with app-based set-up need to have a good UI, while those requiring physical hardware need to blend in. So, what does your home automation platform offer in terms of design?
- Ecosystem: This will be the most important category for any automation platform – what can it control? An automation platform is only as good as its capabilities; so how many devices can your platform control, and how granular can that control be?
- Ease of Install: How easy is it to get started with your automation platform? Can devices be connected and controlled easily, or are there great administrative controls for installers to get stuck into?
Entry Judging: This entry will be judged based on three criteria. The judge will give a weighted score based on the overall quality of the automation platform, based on the words provided. Additional scores will be given for both design and functionality.
Additional Materials Required: In order to judge on design, please supply up to three images of the product. We also require an image of the company’s logo. Entrants may also supply up to one page of supporting evidence, such as testimonials, press coverage, case studies, spec sheets.
